First-time setup

Set up your pet client tracker once.

After setup, this welcome screen disappears. The regular dashboard will focus only on daily work: search the pet, check notes, log the visit, and track payment.

Setup checklist

Complete these steps before using the tracker with real clients.

1

Personalize the business name

This name appears on the sidebar and printed receipts.

2

Create or connect the JSON data file

This saves owners, pets, visits, notes, and payments outside the browser.

3

Add your first owner, pet, and visit

The daily habit is simple: search pet, read notes, log visit.

Business details

Only the business name is required. Everything else is optional and can be changed later.

You can reopen this setup from Settings & Backup if needed.

A simple daily desk for owners, pets, visit notes, and payment status.

Best habit: search the pet first, read their notes, then log today’s visit.
No data file connected. Go to Settings & Backup and create/connect a JSON data file so records are saved outside the browser.

Today’s workflow

Use this screen while working: search the pet, check the memory card, then log today’s visit.

Working tips

Small reminders for clean records. Hide the setup guide after first use; keep daily work simple.

Start-to-finish workflow

Set up the data file once, then use the same three daily actions: search, read, log.

1

Create the data file

So records save to an actual JSON file on the computer.

2

Add owner + pet

Owner is the person. Pet is the animal. One owner can have multiple pets.

3

Log the visit

Write what was done and what to remember next time.

The most important field

The product wins when the notes are useful. Keep them short and specific.

Good pet note

Short body, round face, leave tail fluffy. Nervous with dryer. Sensitive back legs.

Good visit note

Full groom. Oatmeal shampoo. Paid cash. Same style next time.

Quick actions

Use these buttons during the day instead of hunting through menus.

Recent visits

See recent work and unpaid items without digging.

Owners

Owners are the people responsible for the pets. Add them once, then attach pets to them.

Pets

Pet records are the memory cards. This is where the product should feel most useful.

Visits

Each visit stores the service, price, payment status, and what to remember next time.

Reports

Pull useful business information out of the records: monthly totals, unpaid work, lapsed clients, and archived pets.

Reports are meant to help the owner act on the data: see how the month went, find unpaid work, and call clients whose pets have not visited in a while.
Choose the month to summarize.
Default is 90 days without a visit.

Payment status

Quick view of paid, unpaid, and partial visits for the selected month.

Lapsed client call list

Active pets that have not visited recently. Use this as a simple recall list.

Archived pets

Archived records are preserved gracefully but hidden from normal daily visit entry.

Business Settings

These personalize the tracker and printed receipts. They do not change owner, pet, or visit records.

Shown in the sidebar and receipts.
Changes buttons, highlights, and dashboard accents.
Example: “Thank you for trusting us with your pet!”

Data File & Backups

Set this up before real use. The JSON data file stores the records outside the browser.
1

Create or connect a JSON file

This file stores owners, pets, visits, notes, and payments.

2

Keep the file somewhere safe

Use Documents, Desktop, a business folder, or a local shared drive.

3

Download backups

Backups protect against deleted files, browser issues, and mistakes.
